Early Intervention Program
What Is An Early Intervention Program?

Every child reaches his or her developmental milestones at their own pace. However, there are standardized ranges for typical development that parents and caregivers should keep in mind. For those children who are not meeting developmental milestones as expected there is a wonderful service called EARLY INTERVENTION. Early intervention applies to children, birth to age 3, who are discovered to have, or be "at risk" for, a special need that may affect their development. Early intervention consists of providing appropriate care to lessen the effects of a developmental delay or disorder. Early intervention can be remedial or preventive in nature: treating existing developmental problems or preventing their progression. As per federal law, Early Intervention is funded by the Department of Health at NO COST to parents and does not require health care coverage.

The Early Intervention Program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities of the IDEA (Part C) is available in all 50 states and 7 territories. Therefore, any child under the age of three in the U.S. or its territories who has a disability or significant delays in development is entitled to receive early intervention services.
